WHO ARE WE? We are a food distribution and material resource center for families and individuals in our community battling emergency living situations that we could all find ourselves in at sometime in our lives.
WHEN WAS HELP ESTABLISHED? Pike County HELP was started in 1988 in the garage of Charles Sanders and then later moved to a church building. It was then moved to a rental building and today Pike County HELP operates from two locations: a metal building in Phelps that was fully paid for with donations by people with tender hearts and an office in the warehouse resell space of the Charity Thrift store in Pikeville, KY.
HOW IS HELP FUNDED? (Formerly known as HOPE) Funding comes from donations from Appalachian Outreach Mission in Maryland, churches, businesses, and individuals with tender hearts.
WHAT IS OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE? Our main objective is to obey our Lord's command as written in Matt. 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Matt. 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
